Anti Bullying Week - Monday 15th to Friday 19th November
One Kind Word
In a world that can sometimes feel like it’s filled with negativity, one kind word can provide a moment of hope. It can be a turning point. It can change someone’s perspective. It can change their day. It can change the course of a conversation and break the cycle of bullying.
Best of all, one kind word leads to another. Kindness fuels kindness. So from the playground to Parliament, and from our phones to our homes, together, our actions can fire a chain reaction that powers positivity. It starts with one kind word. It starts today.
During anti-bullying week the children learnt all about what bullying is.
Throughout the school classes spent time discussing, describing and understanding that bullying is not a one-off incident, but it is when actions are continuously repeated.
The children explored that these can be both verbal (name calling, shouting, using rude words towards someone - online or in person), non-verbal (making rude faces) and physical (hitting, kicking, punching, pulling). The children thought about how this would make someone feel and came up with some of the most amazing vocabulary to describe emotions and feelings.
Then, the children thought about how they could be anti-bullying campaigners!
